Jacobs Media has made a series of promotions which include the creation of a new managing director position at The Caterer.
Rob Adam will lead the strategy of the brand, working alongside editor James Stagg to continue to drive the industry leading title’s editorial output and events activity.
Adam joined The Caterer in 2006 and was promoted to the role of UK commercial director in 2021, entrusted with the leadership of the travel and hospitality sales teams, and tasked with championing best practices across both market and shaping the trajectory of sales excellence within the business.
The new role will allow him to focus solely on the development of The Caterer as the title continues to build its digital content and subscription base, events output and conference schedule.
Adam said: “I am honoured to step into the role of managing director at The Caterer, having previously served as commercial director across the Jacobs Media UK hospitality and travel titles.
“The Caterer plays a unique role at the heart of the hospitality industry — supporting operators across hotels, restaurants, pubs and contract catering, as well as the many suppliers and partners that power the sector. It is a privilege to lead such a trusted and established brand.”
The group’s Travel Weekly brand has promoted Jessica Shelton-Agar to a new position of UK commercial director, expanding her existing remit as managing director of Online Travel Training.
Shelton-Agar joined Jacobs Media in November 2024 following the company’s acquisition of OTT in late 2023.
In her expanded role of UK commercial director – travel, she will continue to head the OTT business while also leading the sales team for Travel Weekly and sister brands Aspire and the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers.
Shelton-Agar said: “I am very excited to take on this new role alongside my current OTT responsibilities, and to continue building on the incredibly strong platforms both teams have built for our readers, commercial partners and training community.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to integrate OTT into the wider Jacobs Media UK travel team, bringing our sales activities even closer together, and a key focus for me will be supporting our partners to ensure they gain maximum value from opportunities available across the group.”
Within the UK commercial team, Tanya Read has been promoted to senior account director.
